Kimeira Burks

Burks joins the staff in Jacksonville after a standout playing career. She spent two seasons at North Carolina Central, where she averaged over 11 points in each season. She earned All-MEAC honors in the 2023-24 seasons, her first year with the Eagles. She played in 59 games over two seasons.

Before her time at North Carolina Central, she also had stops at Daytona State College and Illinois-Chicago.
 

2023-24: MEAC Player of the Week (Nov. 22) ... 2023 Preseason All-MEAC First Team. Ranked for most three-pointers made in school history at 10 in one game. Led the team in three-point field goal percentage at 31%. Scored a season-high of 34 points, including making 10 three-pointers in the same game. Other season highs were scoring 17 points in the first half with five made four made three-pointers. 

2022-23 (North Carolina Central University): Second Team All-MEAC ... Three-time MEAC Player of the Week (Dec. 20, Feb. 7, Feb. 21) ... NCCU's top scorer with an average of 12.6 points per game ... Played in 30 games, including 25 starts, and scored in double digits in half of her games played (15) ... Tied for first in the MEAC in total 3-pointers made on the season (78) for an average of 2.6 made 3-pointers per game while ranking second in the league with a  .350 3-pt field goal percentage ... Ranked eighth in the conference in scoring (12.6 PPG), 11th in steals per game (1.4 SPG) and 20th in assists per game (1.4 APG) ... Scored a season-high 26 points, including a season-best seven made 3-pointers, at Norfolk State (Feb. 6) ... Other season-highs included nine rebounds at Hofstra (Nov. 18), six assists vs. NC Wesleyan (Nov. 22) and five steals vs. Elon (Nov. 27)

2021-22 (Daytona State College): First Team All-Central Conference ... Played in 23 games, including 18 starts for the Falcons ... Averaged 12.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game ... Scored in double digits 15 times, including a season-high 20 points twice … Tallied season-best game highs of eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block ... Totaled 272 points, 84 rebounds, 38 assists, 29 steals and three blocks ... ranked in the top-25 of the FCSAA in scoring and top-20 in 3-point field goal percentage (34.5%)

2020-21 (University of Illinois Chicago): (Due to a short season of Covid 19) Appeared in five games … averaged 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game … shot 32.4 percent from the field, 23.5 percent from three and was 2-for-2 at the free throw line … also handed out five assists …Totaled 28 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and one steal ... Tallied season-best individual game totals of eight points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal

2019-20 (University of Illinois Chicago): One of just two players to appear in all 30 games, making 28 starts … led the team in field goal attempts (307), three-point attempts (148), and three-point makes (35) … tallied the second-most points (236), field goal makes (86) and rebounds (126) on the team … Reached double-digit points in 10 contests for the Flames ... Scored a season-high 20 points against Youngstown State ... Pulled down a season-best eight rebounds on three occasions ... Other season-best game highs of five assists, four steals and two blocks ... Totaled 236 points, 126 rebounds, 34 steals, 30 assists and four blocks on the season

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in basketball at Harlan and Kenwood High Schools … During her final year at Harlan Career Academy, she helped bring in the team record of 31-7 (best in school history). Earned a spot on the Illinois First Team All-State and Red South All-Conference team …Also, was  named All-City team while being a team captain … Advanced to the State Championship for the first time in school history, where she recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds … Led her team in steals averaging 3.4 per game … Recorded a 39-point performance with making 8 made three-pointers (most in school history).
