Emma Heikkilä joined Jacksonville University’s Athletic Department as the Athletics Administration Graduate Assistant in April 2024. In this role, she assists the Associate AD – Administration & Chief of Staff with the day-to-day business operations of the department, focusing on reviewing expense reports, coding invoices, and processing deposits. Alongside her role, she is actively pursuing a dual master’s degree in finance and accounting with advanced studies in data analytics.
Previously, Heikkilä served as the Graduate Assistant Coach for JU’s Women’s Soccer team from July 2022 to April 2024. In this role, she managed team operations while earning her MBA with a concentration in accounting and finance, which she completed in Spring 2024. Her responsibilities included recruitment, video analysis, equipment management, compliance, business operations, and serving as the liaison between coaches, players, and support staff.
A native of Tornio, Finland, Heikkilä earned her bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Nova Southeastern University in 2020. During her collegiate playing career, she captained NSU’s Women’s Soccer team, leading them to their first-ever NCAA DII South Region Championship title and advancing to the Elite 8 nationally in her senior year. Following this historic season, Heikkilä was awarded All-American honors in both athletics and academics. Additionally, she was recognized with the Ultimate Shark Award during her final two years, an accolade given to the top female and male athlete in each sport by NSU’s Athletics Department.
