Thompson arrives from Creighton University after joining last December with the staff from Bowling Green State University. While at Bowling Green State last fall she helped guide the Falcons to a second-place finish in the Mid-American Conference with an 8-1-2 conference record. Her work on the pitch assisted in the development of four All-MAC performers, including first team honorees Isabelle Gilmore and Brynn Gardner.  
 
Prior to joining the Bowling Green State staff, Thompson spent the 2022 season as a volunteer assistant coach and player performance coach at Florida Tech. In her one season with the Panthers, Thompson helped lead Florida Tech to an 8-6-3 overall and 5-4-1 record in the Sunshine State Conference while advancing to the championships match of the SSC Tournament.
 
Thompson, a native of Melbourne, Florida, spent one year coaching in her hometown at the Cardiff City LFC Academy, while also serving as the program director and coach at the Space Coast United Soccer Club. 

Thompson had a six-year professional career, which included stints with FC Lugano in the Swiss National League (2016-17), Cardiff Met WFC in the UEFA Women's Championship League (2018-21) and Cardiff City (2021). She also was a member of the practice squad for the NWSL'S Orlando Pride in 2021-22. While at Cardiff Met WFC, Thompson helped the team to a league title, a pair of FA Cups and a League Cup. 

During her professional playing career, Thompson also furthered her coaching career, serving as an academy coach with both the FC Lugano Girls Academy and Performance Center Wales.
 
Thompson was a four-year standout at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn., recording 34 points on 14 goals and six assists during her career. She had five goals and 12 points as both a sophomore and senior, while earning All-South Atlantic Conference Team Honorable-Mention selection in each of her final three seasons with the Lady Railsplitters.

Thompson earned her bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Science from LMU in 2016, and most recently earned her master's degree in Sport Coaching and Pedagogy from Cardiff Met University. She also has a UEFA B coaching license.
