Sophie Brandimarte was hired as an Athletic Academic Advisor for Student-Athlete Services in June of 2023.
Before coming to JU, Brandimarte worked at Canisius College as an Academic Mentor for Student-Athletes and Graduate Assistant for Tutoring Services. She was responsible for a caseload of students from the Canisius’ Women’s Basketball team, Women’s Lacrosse team, Women’s Volleyball team, and Swimming & Diving teams. Brandimarte mentored student-athletes from a variety of majors and academic standings, placing emphasis on time management, study skills, note-taking skills and goal setting.
Brandimarte played Women’s Lacrosse collegiately for John Carroll University, where she served as a team captain during the 2019-2020 season. During her career, she saw action in 39 games, making 27 starts.
A native of State College, Pennsylvania, Brandimarte earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Communication and Italian Studies from John Carroll University and Master of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from Canisius College.
