PRIOR TO JACKSONVILLE:
Peter Manguiat joined the Jacksonville Volleyball staff in early 2024.

Manguiat makes way after spending the previous season on the Oregon State staff.

"I'm excited to have Peter joining the staff," said Roth. "He comes with quite an extensive resume and a ton of experience at high level, winning programs. Our ideas on training, culture and student-athlete experience align in many ways. We are both excited about the future of this program!"

The Oakland, Calif. Native, helped the Beavers to a double-digit win season in 2023, which included a five-match win streak and numerous sweeps with Mychael Vernon being named to the All-Pac-12 team. Manguiat was a part of a staff that saw OSU knock off a pair of ranked teams, which included the sixth-ranked Washington State Cougars, in a feat that hadn't been completed in nearly a decade at Oregon State. Prior to his time in Corvallis, Manguiat spent two seasons at Cal Poly State in San Luis Obsipo.

"I'd like to thank Coach Roth and Alex Ricker-Gilbert for this opportunity to join the JU family," said Manguiat. "I believe Alicia's vision for the program and her ability to connect with student-athletes will bring JU volleyball back to prominence. I'm excited to be here and to help in the building process."

Before his time spent on the west coast, Manguiat coached at Pittsburgh for two years under the guidance of Head Coach Dan Fisher. During this tenure, he juggled roles as the interim assistant coach and the director of volleyball operations. Returning for a second stint with the Panthers, his contributions played a pivotal role in propelling Pitt to new levels —their inaugural Elite Eight appearance and a commendable fifth-place national ranking. Notably, three Panther student-athletes earned All-America status during his time as a Panther as well.

Prior to that, Manguiat coached as an assistant coach at Marist College during the 2017-18 seasons. His tenure there saw three players attain All-MAAC honors.

In 2016, Manguiat started his coaching journey as a volunteer assistant coach at Pitt. That year, he was part of a staff that guided the Panther program to its first NCAA Tournament in 12 years.

Manguiat pursued his education at Springfield College, where he played volleyball from 2007 to 2010, and notably won two NCAA Division III national championships. To this day, he ranks in the top 10 in school history for career serve reception percentage.
