Baseball Captures Third-Straight Win

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Jacksonville University baseball (10-9) defeated Florida A&M, 12-5, at Moore-Kittles Field Tuesday evening en route to its third straight win.

With their offense running on all cylinders, the Dolphins racked up 12 hits with Chris Gau leading the way on a 3-for-4 effort. The sophomore also recorded a team-high three RBIs while Logan Wonn received the win, pitching 2.1 innings with three hits and two earned runs.

In the decision, the Dolphins tie their season's best scoring tally at 12. In their series opener against Harvard last week, they recorded a 12-1 victory.

A wild pitch in the first inning paved the wave for JU's first run of the game, before back-to-back hits by Seth DeWitt and Sam Armstrong brought another two home.

The Dolphins doubled their score to 6-0 through 1.5, highlighted by a 2-out, 2-RBI single to left field by Gau, and continued to tack on at least one run in the next three frames.

Mark Potter was given the start and went 2.2 innings, allowing three hits and three runs.

Jacksonville returns to Sessions Stadium this weekend for a three-game series versus Central Florida. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday.
