JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Jacksonville University baseball dominated Brown 10-0 on Friday night at John Sessions Stadium.
Angel Camacho hit his 5th home run of the year and
Tyler Santana pitched a gem throwing 6 innings of scoreless baseball with 8 strikeouts earning the win for the Dolphins (6-6).
Dakota Julylia started the hitting for the Dolphins with a double to left center in the bottom of the first.
Scott Dubrule then singled him home for the first run of the ballgame. Camacho scored the second run for the Dolphins in the bottom of the third on a ball crushed to left center for a home run.
In the bottom of the 6th, Camacho lead off with a walk followed by a double down the left field line from Dubrule.
John Cassala then singled up the middle driving home both Camacho and Dubrule to put the Dolphins up 4-0.
Paul Castillo proceeded to draw a walk followed by
Jacob Southern squeezing a ball right past the third basemen for an RBI double.
The scoring for the Dolphins didn't stop there as they scored five more runs in the 6th. It continued with a RBI sac fly from
Cory Garrastazu, a RBI triple from
Cory Heffron, a RBI single from
Ruben Someillan, a single from Julylia, a RBI sac fly from Camacho, and a RBI single from Dubrule breaking the game open giving the Dolphins a 10-0 lead at the end of the 6th inning.
Jacksonville relief pitchers closed the door on Brown with
Darien Smith pitching a scoreless 7th and
Adrian Garrastazu finishing up the 8th and 9th inning.
The Dolphins return home on Saturday for a doubleheader (1pm, 5pm) against Brown.
