JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University baseball dropped game two of its series to North Florida, 10-4, on Saturday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.
The Dolphins (7-25, 0-11) took a lead into the fifth, before the Ospreys bats came alive and never looked back.
UNF drew first blood for the second straight game, when a one-out double was followed by an RBI single to give the Ospreys a 1-0 lead after two.
JU came up with a quick response, taking the lead in the third.
Jake Berg singled to lead off the inning, and advanced to second on
Blake DeLamielleure's groundout.
Ruben Someillan then singled to center and
Dakota Julylia doubled down the right field line to score both runners and put the Dolphins in front 2-1.
Jacksonville added another run in the fifth, when Someillan again singled up the middle, and went to third when
Jesus Pacheco ripped a single through the left side. Julylia dropped a sacrifice bunt down the first base line to score Someillan and make it 3-1.
The game turned in the bottom of the fifth, when UNF brought 11 men to the plate, and collected six hits, all singles, plus a handful of free passes, to plate six runs to take a 7-3 lead that they would not relinquish.
They scored three more in the sixth to extend the lead to 10-1, before JU got one back in the seventh. Someillan collected his third hit of the game to lead off the frame, and Pacheco walked. A fielder's choice hit to short, led to a throwing error that allowed Someillan to score.
