9/20/2021 11:00:00 AM

Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services, Andy Heston, announced the appointment of four new staff members in the Student-Athlete Services office. Megan Charlton and Taylor Miller have been added as Athletic Academic Advisors and Kayla Dumon and Conchi Sanchez have been appointed as Graduate Assistants. The new additions come from all corners of the globe and Heston is excited about the prospects of the reshaped team.

"I feel fortunate to be bringing in four very talented people, all with different skillsets," said Heston. "They are incredibly caring individuals that will make our students better, in many ways".

Megan Charlton – Athletic Academic Advisor – Hometown: Kent, Washington
"Megan came to us very well prepared by some of the best athletic academic support professionals in the industry. Her nuanced approach and calm demeanor should allow Megan to succeed here right away. She aligned with so many of our core values and is hungry to make a difference".

Taylor Miller – Athletic Academic Advisor – Hometown: Freeport, New York
"Taylor had some valuable experiences with FCS football that prepared her for this role. She understands how to be the right blend of challenging and encouraging. Taylor's advisees will quickly see how much she cares and should undoubtedly benefit from her meticulous tutelage."

Kayla Dumon – Graduate Assistant – Hometown: Citrus Springs, Florida
"Kayla has a very creative brain and is as much of a people person as you will find. Her ultra-positive attitude and range of skills will help our department continue to engage students at a high clip."

Conchi Sanchez – Graduate Assistant – Hometown: Madrid, Spain
"Conchi has carried so many leadership roles at a relatively young age and has helped prepare her for this step. She has an incredibly pleasant persona, where students will likely gravitate swiftly toward her".

The Student-Athlete Services office helped guide JU student-athletes to a record 3.39 departmental GPA in 2020-21.  Over the last six years, since the division's inception, the unit has expanded its offerings and reach across campus to create more opportunities for Dolphin student-athletes, beyond the playing surface.
