Conway, Ark. – In a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon matchup, the Jacksonville men's soccer program (3-7-4, 0-4-3) came away with a 2-2 draw against Central Arkansas.
Following a weather delay which delayed the beginning of the contest, the Bears would score the match's first goal in the 28
th minute, as Richy Lapointe-Guevara found the back of the net for UCA.
However, just over five minutes later, the Dolphins would respond. Off a pass from
Trey Demps,
Ed Port would score off a header, tying the match at one-all.
The score would hold, as the two programs entered the half knotted at one.
Central Arkansas would start fast in the second half, scoring three minutes into the frame. Sebastian Andreassan would put the Bears ahead by one, off a shot in the upper left corner of the goal.
In the 58
th minute, Olivier Correra would score the equalizer for the Dolphins. Correra would find the back of the net, off the rebound from
Moussa Sabaly.
In the end, the two programs would engage in a defensive battle for the remaining 20 minutes, as neither would break the tie.
The Dolphins return for the regular season finale this Tuesday, heading to face River City Rumble rival, North Florida.
