Dolphins Defeated by North Alabama

JACKSONVILLE, FLA.- The Jacksonville volleyball program dropped a five –set contest versus North Alabama, Friday evening in Swisher Gymnasium.  

SET ONE 

The two programs traded points to begin the contest, however Jacksonville held a five-point lead over the Lions, 11-6. A kill from Lyric Love and an ace from Jenna McNamara continued the Dolphins' lead. Jacksonville ended with a 4-0 scoring run to close out set one 25-11.  

SET TWO 

Holding a one-point edge over the Lions, 8-7, UNA rattled off five straight points to extend their lead 12-9. The Lions capitalized on the Dolphins errors, forcing Jacksonville to call a timeout 19-13. UNA kept the momentum finishing set two 25-15.  

SET THREE 

The Lions continued their energy early in set three. Jacksonville showed toughness tying the set 10-10. The Lions regained the lead 16-13. The back-and-forth affair continued in Swisher Gymnasium, but UNA battled to get back on top. The Lions won the third set 25-20.  

SET FOUR 

Jacksonville stormed out with a 10-4 lead forcing UNA to take a timeout. A huge kill form Haley Hart extended the Dolphins 13-6 lead. The Dolphins went on a 6-0 scoring run mid game. UNA battled back to get within range, but Jacksonville held on to the lead. Back-to-back kills for Hart gave the Dolphins set point 24-18. Julia De Sa's kill ended set four 25-19.  

SET FIVE 

JU stormed out to a 5-1 lead over UNA early in the frame. The Lions battled back to tie the set 8-8. A service ace from Gyrani Rogers put the Dolphins up by one point. UNA regained control with a 3-0 scoring run. McNamara's kill tied the set 13-13. The Lions clinched the fifth set 18-16.  
 

Haley Hart tied her season high with 20 kills. Julia De Sa added 15 kills and Jenna Mcnamara with 14 kills. Rebecca Rocassin recorded 48 assists in the effort tonight. Kariana Ayala-Drew posted a team best with 23 digs.  

The Dolphins return to the court Saturday evening, welcoming Central Arkansas.
