CHARLESTON, S.C. – Four members of Jacksonville University women's golf are in the top-25 after the first round of the Edisto Island Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
The team is third out of 14 teams at the in the invitational at the The Plantation Course at Edisto. The Dolphins finished as the leaders in both pars,and birdies.
Susana Olivares is T2 with a first round score of 71. She made four straight pars on holes 4-7, and finished the day with 13 pars total. She was the best scorer on Par 3s as well as finishing T2 on Par 5s.
Casey Powell shot a 75 and had team best three birdies on the day. She is T16 and is T3 on Par 4s, in addition to be sitting T3 on Par 5s. She also finished the day with 11 pars.
Ivete Rodrigues was able to compete again coming of an illness. She finished the day with three birdies and is T16 after shooting 75. She made par on holes 7-10, in addition to making par 13 times on the day. She was T3 on Par 3s and also ended the day T4 on Par 4s, as well as finishing in the T3 on Par 5s.
Ashley Huffman ended the day with a score of 76 which put her T25 on the day. She also made 11 pars, and 2 birdies to conclude her day.
The team has a quick turnaround as they get back into action for the second day of the Edisto Island Invitational tomorrow morning.
