Jacksonville, Fla. — Jacksonville University's women's golf team competed in the Sea Best Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, finishing ninth overall. The Dolphins posted rounds of 311, 305, and 317 for a combined score of +69. The two-day event at San Jose Country Club featured 11 teams, including six from Florida.

In the opening round, Hannah Lowery led the Dolphins with an even-par front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 fourth hole. Her performance placed her inside the top twenty for round one.

Close behind was Erin Marcelino, who shot +4 in round one and recorded 15 pars, including eight on the front nine.

The Dolphins finished the first round tied for 8th place with Samford, posting a team score of +23.

Round two proved more favorable for the Dolphins, who improved by six shots to share the seventh-best team score on Monday afternoon.

Kit Schaefer (Ind.) delivered her best round of the season, shooting a five-over 77 in round two. She tallied 14 pars and capped her round with a two-over back nine.

Marcelino recorded three birdies in the second round, tying for the most by a Dolphin during the Sea Best.

Issy Hopkins showed significant improvement, lowering her score by five strokes from a 79 in round one to a 74 in round two. Her second-round score tied for 19th and was the best posted by a Dolphin on Monday.

Alexis Rieli posted her best round of the tournament on Monday, shooting an 80.

Once the morning frost cleared, the Dolphins returned to the course for Tuesday's third round, ready to battle the elements.

Bretton Mackiewicz ended the tournament on a high note, carding a spring-best six-over 78, which included two birdies.
