GADSDEN, Ala. – The Jacksonville women's golf team concluded three days of play in Alabama Tuesday afternoon, finishing 16
th out of 16 teams in the Chris Banister Golf Classic hosted by Jacksonville State.
Competing on the Backbreaker/Mindbreaker course on RTJ Trail Golf at Silver Lake, the Dolphins shot a combined +131 for the tournament, led by a +23 final score by
Hannah Lowery who finished T-50 overall.
Lowery carded team-best days of +4 on the opening day and +7 on Tuesday. She carded two birdies during tournament play.
Erin Marcelino (+31),
Alexis Rieli (+40),
Issy Hopkins (+37) and
Kit Schaefer (+66) rounded out the Dolphin contingency. On day two, Hopkins shot a team-high +6 with three birdies. Hopkins paced the team on day three with two birdies, the only birdies by the Dolphins on the final day.
No player from any team finished better than even over the three days of play.
The Dolphins have a two-week break from travel before hitting the road again, this time staying in the eastern time zone up in Raleigh, North Carolina. JU takes on the City of Oaks Collegiate hosted by NC State at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course from March 22-24.
