JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Dolphins (0-5) opened their busy week with a home game against the Florida Gators (5-0). In a game that began close, the Dolphins ended with a 1-13 loss to UF.
In her third start of the season, Skylar Whitty would begin the first inning giving up just one run on a sacrifice fly, giving JU the opportunity to jump ahead in the bottom of the inning. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, they were unable to get the bat on the ball again in this contest. It got away quickly for JU as UF would bat around in the fourth inning, giving them a run total of thirteen.
The Dolphins scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth, preventing a shut-out for the Gators squad. That fifth inning would be the final of the game, giving JU their fifth straight loss to open the season.
JU has an opportunity to even the series against UF as they travel to Gainesville tomorrow, Wednesday, February 16th to take on the Gators at 6PM.
