CHARLESTON, S.C. – Day one of the RiverTowne Intercollegiate was suspended due to darkness.
After round one, Jacksonville university women's golf was tied for eighth.
Casey Powell made two birdies in her first five holes, but ran into some trouble on her seventh hole, and then four of his first five on the back-nine were also over par. She finished the round steady, with four consecutive pars.
Frantiska Lunackova put a tough early stretch behind her in the first round to make par on eight of her final 11 holes of the opening round, with a pair of birdies mixed in as well, and was tied with her teammate Powell after the first 18.
Macarena Aguilera made five pars and a birdie in her first six holes of the day, and also went through a tough patch before leveling out with three straight pars to end her first round.
Laura Pasalodos was tied with her teammate Aguilera after one round, using 11 pars and a birdie to shoot a 78.
Jenna Fonda made 10 pars and a birdie in the first round and
Mawgan Vater had a team-best 11 pars in the first round.
Round two is set to resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, with round three set to be played immediately after.
