CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Four Jacksonville women's golfers were named as WGCA Scholar All-Americans for the 2024-2025 season.
Casey Powell,
Susana Olivares,
Erin Marcelino and
Ivete Rodrigues all earned the honor after successful seasons on the course and in the classroom.
Four is the most selected in one season for the program since 2022, with that 2022 season being Powell's first selection during her career at JU.
All four golfers contributed to the team significantly throughout the season, finding themselves in the starting lineup for most of the year. Olivares had a breakout year and earned All-Conference honors in the process, Marcelino finished with an ASUN All-Academic selection while Rodrigues continued to impact the team after her performance in the 2024 ASUN Tournament. Powell helped anchor the Dolphins in each tournament with veteran leadership ending a great for Jacksonville.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
- Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
