PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Three players finished in the top-10 and Jacksonville University women's golf came home sixth at the Lady Bison Classic on Tuesday.
Frantiska Lunackova finished fifth,
Macarena Aguilera sixth and
Laura Pasalodos tied for seventh in the event at Bay Point Golf Club.
Lunackova made seven pars on her front nine, and closed strong with two birdies in her final three holes. She shot successive 75s in her final two rounds, and moved up two spots on Tuesday to record her first top-five of the season.
Aguilera started her final round hot, sinking successive birdies on her second and third holes. She finished with seven pars and three birdies total, finishing one stroke behind her teammate.
Pasalodos bounced back from some early struggles, recording six straight holes of par or better, with one birdie in that stretch, added another birdie on her back nine and finished the day with 10 pars total.
Casey Powell finished the day hot after a tough start, with three birdies in her final six holes.
Mawgan Vater had seven pars and a birdie and
Harley Hiltibrand added five pars and a birdie of her own.
JU tied for the best team score on Par-5s, scoring 5-under on the long holes, with Powell (-4), Aguilera (-3) and Vater (-1) performing the best on them. As a team, JU had 133 pars and 27 birdies. Lunackova had a team-high 33 pars and Aguilera made seven birdies.
The Dolphins are back on the course next week when they are the host school for the Sea Best Intercollegiate hosted by San Jose Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
