LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Dolphins (9-13) completed a series sweep of Bellarmine (8-21) with a 6-1 victory this afternoon.
Contrary to the first two games of this series, the Dolphins got the scoring started in this one. With heads-up baserunning from Victoria Rodebaugh, the Dolphins jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first that would slowly be built upon in the proceeding innings. Rodebaugh would once again take part in the run-scoring as she would take an RBI hit-by-pitch in the second inning to make it a 2-0 lead for JU.
Whereas the runs came from big plays yesterday, today was a game of small ball. In the top half of the fourth, the Dolphins would score three more runs off three singles and patient work at the plate. In the bottom half, Shelby Harpe continued to pitch a gem as she completed four innings of shut-out pitching.
The following inning brought a solo home run for the Knights, ensuring they would not be shut out this afternoon, moving the Dolphins lead and final score to 6-1. Although not credited for a save, Skylar Whitty came in to close out the final nine batters of the game in 2.2 innings of work and providing Shelby Harpe with her fourth win of the season.

On the win
"Any time you can go on the road and win a series, it's a big deal. Let alone a sweep. We took some lumps early, but we've put together some wins and are improving."
On the season ahead
"The goal is to be playing our best through April and May. We know we have a long conference season ahead of us, but we will take the 3-0 start all day, every day!"
JU heads back home to host a three-game-series against Eastern Kentucky (4-22) on Saturday, March 26th and Sunday, March 27th.
