JU Turns in Solid First Round in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Jacksonville University women's golf wrapped the first day of the Bama Beach Bash in a tie for sixth.
 
The Dolphins were led by Frantiska Lunackova, who sits T14.
 
Lunackova rode a consistent round to her first round 75, making bogey on her second hole of the day before rattling off nine straight pars. She closed her round with five consecutive birdies as well.
 
Macarena Aguilera is also in the top-25, shooting 77 in her first round. She had back-to-back birdies on her third and fourth holes, mixing in 11 pars for the day. Jenna Fonda is one stroke back of Aguilera, making a birdie to start the day and sinking 10 total pars.
 
Casey Powell matched Fonda with a birdie on her first hole and 10 pars, Laura Pasalodos also had 10 pars and a birdie and individual Harley Hiltibrand had nine pars.
 
Jacksonville led the field with 56 total pars. Pasalodos shot 1-under on Par-3s, tied for the second-best score in the first round. Aguilera was even on Par-5s.
 
UPDATE: Due to impending weather on Tuesday, the second and third rounds will now conclude on Monday at Gulf Shores Golf Club, starting with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun.
