PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Macarena Aguilera shot a first round 73 and is T5 after one round of the GolfWeek/AGT Spring Intercollegiate.
 
Jacksonville University women's golf closed day one action in a tie for 11th overall on Monday at True Blue Golf Club.
 
Aguilera bounced back from an opening hole bogey to make birdie on number two, and after a par followed by a bogey, rattled off five straight pars to close out the front nine. She opened the back nine with another red number and closed her opening round with seven consecutive pars.
 
Jenna Fonda is one stroke back of her teammate and tied for 15th in the standings. She made seven pars on the front nine, and closed her round with seven more pars and a birdie.
 
Frantiska Lunackova made two birdies and nine pars in her round, Casey Powell sank 11 total pars and Mawgan Vater had 10 pars and a birdie.
 
JU was the second-best team on Par-3s and Par-5s as a team, and the Dolphins 57 pars were fourth-most overall. Fonda was the team's best scorer on Par-3s at 1-under, Aguilera was 1-under on Par-4s and Lunackova was 2-under on Par-5s.
 
Round two starts Tuesday morning, with Vater teeing off first for the Dolphins at 10:25 a.m. and Aguilera the last off the tee for JU at 11:00 a.m.
