VALDOSTA, Ga. – Jacksonville University women's golf finished T7 at the ASUN Women's Golf Championship on Tuesday, led by Frantiska Lunackova's top-10 finish.

The graduate student from Tyn Nad Vitavou, Czech Republic weathered a day in which scores skyrocketed at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club to complete her third and final round tied for 10th.

Her front nine was tough, with just four pars, but she closed her day strong, sinking her first birdie of the day on hole 11, coming back with another red number on 14 and closing the event with her third and final birdie on hole 18. She added four pars on the back, to shoot a final round 76, posting the best finish for a Dolphin at the ASUN Championship since 2017, when Amanda Detmer came home tied for sixth.

Freshman Casey Powell completed her first postseason T20, also using a strong back-nine to close on a positive note. After just four pars on her front nine, after making the turn she ripped off three birdies on her first four holes. She then sank four pars in her last five holes.

Macarena Aguilera made three birdies on the back nine, and added six pars, Mawgan Vater started her final round with four straight pars and made nine total and Laura Pasalodos made nine pars after being switched into the lineup for Tuesday.

JU finished the week with 138 pars and 32 birdies, which was third-most in the field. Lunackova was 1-under for the tournament on Par-5s, which was T6 for lowest score on such holes. Powell led the team with 33 pars and Aguilera's 12 birdies were second-most in the field.

The Dolphins posted its best team score at the ASUN Championship since 2016, and Lunackova's 72-hole total of 223 was the lowest since Jessica Welch shot a 221 in 2014 to finish second. The team completes the season with the fourth-lowest scoring average in program history, in what was tied for the second-most rounds of golf played for the team ever. The team set several program records this season, including the two lowest 72-hole team scores in program history.
