JACKSONVILLE, FLA.- Jacksonville University volleyball wrapped the Jacksonville Invitational with 2-1 weekend after dropping to Presbyterian on Saturday afternoon. Â
SET ONE Â
The two programs traded points to begin the contest, however Presbyterian held a three- point margin over the Dolphins, 13-10. Presbyterian swung the momentum in its favor courtesy a couple service aces putting Presbyterian up 21-17. Block from Lyric Love and Jenna Mcnamara late in the frame trimmed the deficit to four, 22-18. However, Presbyterian followed through winning the opening set, 25-20. Â
SET TWOÂ
Holding a one-point lead over Presbyterian 9-8, Jacksonville rattled off four straight points extending the lead 13-8. However, just a few points later, Presbyterian utilized errors from the Dolphins to tie up the set 15-all. After trading points back-and-forth, Presbyterian were holding on in set two. The Dolphins scored two consecutive points from Rebecca Rocassin and Love to win the content's second set, 25-20. Â
SET THREEÂ
Presbyterian jumped out to an 5-3 lead over the Dolphins to begin the set. Another back-and-forth affair a kill from Mcnamara tying the game 13-13. A big kill from Madison Clark put the Dolphins behind by one. Jacksonville was unable to gain momentum closing out set three 25-22. Â
SET FOURÂ
Presbyterian stormed out to a 5-0 lead over the Dolphins. Haley Hart's killed closed out the scoring run making the score 5-1. The Dolphins gained momentum after Julia De Sa rattled off a kill putting the Dolphins behind by one. However, Presbyterian would clinch the four-set victory, winning the set 25-23. Â
Jacksonville was led on the attack by Jenna Mcnamara's 14 kills. Haley Hart adding 11, and Julia De Sa with nine kills. Rebecca Robinson recorded 40 assists. Kariana Ayala posted a team best of 15 digs. Â
The Dolphins are back in Swisher Gymnasium Friday for the Dolphin Classic against Tarleton State at 10am and Idaho at 7pm. Â
