Box Score LYNCHBURG, VA- Jacksonville University women's basketball program traveled up to take on the Liberty Flames. Jacksonville battled 66-81.
The Dolphins struggled offensively in the first quarter. The Flames went on an 11-0 scoring run, the defense from the Flames put the Dolphins in a scoring drought for over three minutes. In the second quarter Zaria Blake was a spark for the Dolphins offensively and defensively. The baskets started to fall for Jacksonville late in the quarter. A three from DeShari Graham put the Dolphins within 20 points. The Flames continued to push the lead going into halftime 46-21.
In the third quarter Jacksonville came out with some fight. A basket from Graham and Seraphine Bastin, and Blake sparked some energy. Most of the Flames points came from the inside the paint shooting 53 percent from the field. In the final quarter the Dolphins continue to battle with the flames. Jackson dominated in the fourth quarter in the paint. Jacksonville went on a 6-0 run mid quarter. Liberty had an answer for the Dolphins continuing to score in the paint. Liberty shot 50 percent from the field and Jacksonville shot 39 percent.
