Calling Baton Rouge: Dolphins To Face LSU In NCAA Tournament

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- After winning the 2026 ASUN Women's Basketball championship, the Jacksonville Dolphins now know their destination for the first round of the 2026 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship.

The Dolphins will face the #2 LSU Tigers as a 15 seed. The game will be played in Baton Rouge on Friday, March 20 as part of the Region 2 Bracket.
This is Jacksonville's highest-ever seed in the NCAA tournament. In 2016, the Dolphins earned a 16 seed, playing at South Carolina.

LSU is no stranger to the NCAA Tournament, led by four-time tournament champion coach Kim Mulkey. LSU finished 27-5 overall and 12-4 in the SEC. They finished in the SEC Tournament Semifinals as a #6 seed.

Streaming information will be announced in the coming days.

The Dolphins (24-8, 13-5) clinched their automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after earning a #2 seed in the ASUN Tournament. They defeated #7 West Georgia, #3 Central Arkansas and #8 Austin Peay along the way.

With 24 wins, the Dolphins matched their highest win total in a single season. The ASUN Tournament victory was the team's first in a decade, making the Big Dance for the first time in as many years.
