HOW IT HAPPENED
An early second-half goal from an Owls' corner kick proved to be the difference in a tightly contested match in Atlantic Sun play on Thursday night. Maddy Baucom whipped in a forehead-high ball that deflected off Aila Swinton's head in the 48th minute and found the back of the net to give the game its first goal. The Dolphins'
Anaya Black opened up the half with an opportunity from a tough angle on the right-hand side, and when she ripped her shot, it was destined for the near corner. Owls' keeper Allanah Blye was barely able to deflect it with her ankle and denied JU the game's first goal.

In the first half, a near-perfect counter was almost executed in the 20th minute. KSU lined up for a corner, and Baucom whipped in a ball that was destined for the far corner. Running towards the goal,
Lillian Young headed the ball off the line and into the path of Black. Black raced down the field, dancing past Owl's defenders along the way, and found herself on the edge of the 18 with one defender to beat. A swift final move was just hardly not enough as her probably goal-bound shot was deflected by a sliding KSU defender to keep the game scoreless at the time.
Logan Gonzales started in net and recorded her second consecutive game with five or more saves.
