BOCA RATON, Fla. – Two Dolphins sit in the top-10 and Jacksonville University women's golf is fifth after the first two rounds of the Jupiter Women's Invitational Monday.
After a challenging morning, the scores plummeted in the afternoon, and
Issy Hopkins is T5 and
Casey Powell sits T10 with 18 holes to play at Johnathan's Landing Golf Club.
Hopkins was +3 through her first seven holes, but buried her first birdie of the day on the Par-5 10th. She concluded her first 18 holes with eight pars over her final 10 of the round. The freshman was properly warmed up, and shaved five strokes off of her score in the second round, climbing 13 spots on the leaderboard. She was -1 through her first five holes of the round. After giving a stroke back on her sixth, she immediately birdied the next hole. This jumpstarted a stretch in which she shot -2 over her next seven. She hit a minor bump, with back-to-back bogeys, before closing the day with consecutive pars for a 1-under 69.
She was tied for the best score on Par-3s in the field, shooting -1, and additionally was -1 on Par-5s.

She started the second 18 with three birdies and eight pars in a stretch of 11-straight bogey-free holes to begin the round. She gave two strokes back late, but scored three more pars and sank her fourth and fifth birdies of the round on the Par-4 13th and 18th holes.

She shook off the tough finish to the first round by parring her first seven holes of the second. She then buried back-to-back birdies on the Par-3 9th and the Par-5 10th. From there, she made four more pars in a row, before consecutive bogeys slowed her a bit. She closed the round on a high note, making two more birdies in a row to end it with a 2-under 68.
