JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University women's golf shot its best round of the week on Tuesday at San Jose Country Club, finishing strong to come home T4 in the Sea Best Intercollegiate.

The Dolphins had three top-20 finishers, led by Casey Powell, who placed sixth, and Ivete Rodrigues, who finished T9.

Powell's final round was her best one, going 2-under with a 70 on the day. She birdied her second hole, then after birdieing the sixth, parred four in a row after that. She concluded the round with three birdies and three pars each over her last seven holes of the day. She was the second-best overall on Par-4s, shooting even for the week.

Rodrigues birdied her first hole of the round, and after a mild rough patch, settled in to finish her round consistently. Ten of her last 12 holes were par, as she posted her second-straight top-10 finish. Her 1-under score on Par-3s was tied for second-best in the field.

Jenna Fonda also carded her best score of the week, climbing 12 spots in the final round. She also started the day with a birdie, making six straight pars after that. After starting the back nine with a bogey, she got hot, making three birdies and three pars over her next seven holes. Her 1-under scoring on Par-5s led the team.

Laura Pasalodos was the Dolphins biggest mover, climbing 13 spots on the final leaderboard. She made two birdies in her first four holes of the day, and added ten pars throughout the round. Ashley Huffman started her day with seven straight pars and finished the round with 13 total. She finished the week with a team-best 36 pars.

JU finished as the third-best team on Par-3s and Par-4s, and tied for the fourth-most birdies overall, with Powell and Fonda tying for the team-high with eight apiece.

Next up, the women head to Charleston, S.C. for the RiverTowne Intercollegiate, which starts up on Feb. 26.
