JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University baseball fell to Kent State, 16-6, in the rubber match game three on Sunday afternoon at John Sessions Stadium.

Heston Mosley started the ball game for the Dolphins going two innings, recording two strikeouts.Â

The Golden Flashes led off the ball game with a base hit into right field just over the out stretched glove of a leaping
Justin Nadeau. A sacrifice bunt back to the pitcher, Mosley, advanced the runner to second. A walk to the three-hole hitter put runners at second and first with one away. The Golden Flashes took advantage with a base knock into right-center field for an RBI hit to make it 1-0, Kent State. Then on a wild pitch, the runner advanced to second base to put both runners in scoring position. Mosley then punched his first strikeout for the second out of the inning, trying to avoid further damage. On a 3-2 count, Mosley got another strikeout to strand two runners.

Following a one-two-three Dolphin half of the first, the Kent State grabbed the bats for the second time. A two-out walk to the nine-hitter brought up the top of the Kent State lineup. A hit-and-run up the middle put runners on the corners with two down. A wild pitch advanced the runners making it 2-0 Golden Flashes. A four-pitch walk put two-on with two-out once again.

Jacksonville's bats remained quiet as they only recorded one hit in the first two innings but the Golden Flashes continued to get base runners. In the top of the third, a leadoff double got Kent State back in business. Then a hit batsman put two runners on with nobody out. A base hit back up the middle plated another run to make it 3-0 Kent State. After another free pass to a KSU batter,
Layton Perry took the ball over for Jacksonville. A hit to right field scored another run for Kent State, bringing the score to 4-0. A walk brought in a third run of the inning to extend the Golden Flashes lead to 5-0. By the end of the inning, it was 9-0 Kent State.

Cam Ridley led off the bottom of the third with a base hit on the left side of the infield. After a tapper out in front of the catcher by
Chandler Howard advanced Ridley to second,
Chase Malloy stepped in to the box. On a 1-1 count, Chase blasted one over the left-center field wall for a two-run home run to cut the Kent State lead to 9-2. Still with only one out, a base hit to right field by Nadeau and an error put two runners on for
Kris Armstrong. A rope down the left field line off the bat of Armstrong for a double cleared the bases, making it 9-4.
Hogan McIntosh kept the hit parade going with a shot back up the middle to put runners at the corners. An RBI fielder's choice ground out by
Colin Wetterau cut the Kent State lead to four, 9-5.Â

In the top of the fifth inning, a one-out error to put a runner at second base. Then a deep drive over the right field wall extended the Kent State lead to 11-5. The next Kent State batter was hit by pitch to give the Golden Flashes another base runner. A hit-and-run was put on by Kent State to put runners on the corners still with only one away. An RBI ground out to Armstrong down at third scored another run to extend the lead to 12-5 Golden Eagles.

They added four more in the top of the sixth and two more in the ninth, to conclude Kent State's scoring.

Kris Armstrong blasted his first home run of the season over the right field wall.
