Box Score 2 MACON, GA- Jacksonville University women's softball team traveled to Macon to play on the first day of the Mercer Invitational.
The Dolphins (6-6) split 1-1 against Tennessee Tech and South Carolina.
Game 1
Jacksonville started the scoring early in the bottom of the first inning. Madison Reynolds got put on base by a hit by pitch. Madison Bratek walked allowing Reynolds to advance to second. Victoria Rodebaugh reached on a fielder's choice and Bratek advanced to second and Reynolds advanced to third. Rodebaugh advanced to second, Reynolds advanced to third and Bratek scored on a wild pitch. Allison Bratek singled to right field; two Dolphins scored. Kailey Harrigan homered to left field. Bratek scored, making the score 5-0.
In the bottom of the second inning, Madison Bratek homered to left field advancing Reynolds and herself home. Allison Bratek homered to left field which concluded the game in five innings. The Dolphins won 8-0.
Game Two
This one got away quickly for the Dolphins. Giving up four runs in the first inning, the momentum was completely on South Carolina's side. The Dolphins gave up 2 runs in the second inning.
On the offensive side for JU, Joely Leguizamon singled to right field. Madison Reynolds doubled to left field, Leguizamon scored in the bottom of the third inning. The Dolphins had the opportunity to score again when Madison Bratek walked to first base. Rodebaugh singled to third base, Bratek advanced to second and Reynolds advanced to third. A. Bratek walked, Rodebaugh advanced to second and M. Bratek advanced to third; Reynolds scored, making the score 2-6. The Gamecocks held on to the momentum finishing the fifth inning 10-2.
