Olivares Continues Strong Play on Monday at Rivertowne Intercollegiate

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Susana Olivares remains high on the leaderboard, sitting T2 at the conclusion of the second round of the Rivertowne Intercollegiate on Monday.
 
Jacksonville University women's golf is T10 overall with one round to play.
 
Entering the day tied for the lead, Olivares bogeyed two of her first six holes. From there she settled in, sinking birdies on her eighth and 13th holes, while making par on all the rest, including five straight to end her day. Her 2-under scoring on Par-4s in tied for third-best in the field. She also has eight total birdies so far, tied for the second-most overall.
 
Ivete Rodrogues in T24 through 36 holes. She birdied her second hole of the day and hit a bit of a rough patch closing out her first nine. After that, she found her rhythm, making two more birdies and five pars in her final eight holes of the day. She has shot 2-under on Par-5s for the week, tied with Olivares for the team-best on such holes.
 
Casey Powell turned in a steady day, making par on every hole in her first nine of the round and adding six more, plus a birdie on her last nine. Her 15 pars on the day were tied for most in the field and she is tied for second overall in Par-3 scoring in the event, shooting 1-under on such holes.
 
Jenna Fonda had nine pars and Laura Pasalodos scored 10 pars and a birdie of her own.
 
The final round from Rivertowne Country Club tees off at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning with a shotgun start.
