Box Score JACKSONVILLE, FL- Jacksonville University women's basketball program played Stetson University Saturday afternoon in Swisher Gymnasium. The Dolphins fell short 57-48.
Jacksonville jumped out to a 5-0 run 2 minutes into the game. The Hatters found momentum but a floater jumper from DeShari Graham put the Dolphins back up by two. A three pointer from Shynia Jackson extended the lead to five. With seconds on the shot clock Seraphine Bastin with a driving layup ending the first quarter. A three pointer from Graham and a long jumper from Bastin continued to help the Dolphins extend the lead. Freshman Kyshonna Brown extended the lead with a three pointer. The Dolphins shot 54 percent from the field to the Hatters 44 percent. Jacksonville led going into halftime 32-27.
In the third quarter the Hatters came out with energy, the Hatters went on a 10 to 4 run. Stetson took the lead midway through the quarter. The Dolphins went ice cold with a minute remaining in the quarter. The Hatters outscored the Dolphins 18 to 8. In the final quarter Jacksonville battled to take the lead again. The Dolphins struggled to find a rhythm. A three pointer from Delayna Gillard ended the scoring drought. A layup from Jackson cut the deficit to six. Stetson kept their foot on the gas extending the nine.
