Box Score JACKSONVILLE, FLA- Jacksonville University played North Alabama for the last regular season game on Wednesday night in Swisher Gymnasium. The Dolphins fell short to the Lions 54-65.Â
MaKayla Edwards started the scoring off for the Dolphins with a layup. Both programs traded points throughout the quarter. Shynia Jackson scored back-to-back baskets for Jacksonville to extend the lead by four. In the second quarter the Lions went on a 9-0 run. Jacksonville struggled offensively. The Lions had the momentum outscoring the Dolphins 16 to 7 leading going into halftime 23-20. Â
In the third quarter Jacksonville continued to struggle offensively. A basket from Jackson stopped the scoring drought for the Dolphins. Jalisa Dunlap finished a three point to cut the deficit to six. A jumper from Seraphine Bastin sparked momentum for the Dolphins trailing by five. The Lions responded back with a three pointer from the corner extending the lead to nine. Jacksonville never gave up going into the final quarter. In the fourth quarter Freshman Julene Royale shot a huge three pointer from the top of the key to put Jacksonville back in the game. The two programs traded points midway through the quarter, Dunlap shot a three to cut the lead to six. Bastin went to the line to sync both free throws, the Dolphins trailed by four. North Alabama regained momentum to seal the game. Â

The Dolphins will travel down to Fort Myers to play in the first round of the ASUN Tournament. Â
