ATLANTA – Jacksonville University women's golfer Susana Olivares was named ASUN Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Thursday.
 
It is her first conference honor, earned after she won her first event in the Dolphin uniform earlier this week.
 
Olivares played steady golf all week at the Rivertowne Intercollegiate, staying in the top two throughout the event in Charleston, S.C. Her 72-hole total of 213 was tied for the fourth-best tournament score in program history, and she was the 13th all-time women's golfer at JU to capture medalist honors.
 
The Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico native is in her first year with the program after transferring in following a DII All-American career at Central Oklahoma.
 
She is the second Dolphin to win Golfer of the Week this year, following Casey Powell two weeks ago.
