JACKSONVILLE, FLA- Jacksonville University softball program matched up with Northern Kentucky Wednesday evening at Debbie and Fred Pruitt Softball Complex.
The Dolphins (10-9) defeated Northern Kentucky (4-12) in seven innings. The Dolphins won 5-4.
Early in the first inning Madison Reynolds tripled; Madison Bratek doubled sending Reynolds home. Madison Kennedy walked, and Kari Harrigan doubled to left field allowing Kennedy to score. In the third inning, Reynolds singled to left field; M. Bratek walked and Reynolds advanced to second base. Allison Bratek singled to right field; M. Bratek advanced to second and Reynolds advanced to third. Kennedy walked, allowing her teammate Reynolds to score. Hallie Kern was hit by a pitch advancing her to first base. Kennedy advanced to second base and A. Bratek advanced to third base. M. Bratek scored, making the score 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Kennedy walked, and Hannah Nasco pinch ran for Kennedy. Kari Holzrichter doubled and Nasco scored.
Late in the seventh inning Northern Kentucky fought back to get four runs but it wasn't enough to beat the Dolphins.

The Dolphins travel to Clemson, S.C. to compete in the Clemson Classic Mar. 10-12.
