Box Score 2 JACKSONVILLE, FLA - Jacksonville University Softball competed in a doubleheader with Central Arkansas Saturday afternoon in the first ever meeting between the teams at Debbie and Fred Pruitt Complex.
The Dolphins (17-16, 4-4) dropped both contests by scores of 7-2 and 2-0.
Game 1
Despite a two-hit game by Junior Kari Holzrichter the Dolphins could not overcome Central Arkansas and saw their four-game winning streak end in the first game of the doubleheader. In the first inning, Central Arkansas pitcher Jordan Johnson walked three Dolphins to gain bases loaded for Jacksonville. Holzrichter singled to left field allowing Tatianna Davis to score. The Bears took the lead in the top of the fourth inning after the Dolphins gave up two runs. Jacksonville tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth after Davis tripled sending Redshirt Sophomore Allison Carter home. Central Arkansas regained the momentum in the fifth inning after Jacksonville gave up five runs. The Bears held on to the lead in the seventh inning to take the victory.
Game 2
The Bears carried the momentum into the second game, scoring two runs early at the top of the first inning. Central Arkansas defense held Jacksonville to zero runs throughout seven innings.
Davis picked up her 16th and 17th hit of the season in the loss.
