JACKSONVILLE, FLA – Pitch runner Hannah Nasco scored the game's only run and Dolphin pitcher Ashlee Harwood tossed a complete game three hitter as Jacksonville beat Kennesaw State Saturday for the second consecutive game, 1-0.
Nasco, from St. Cloud, FL, scored on a sacrifice fly by Victoria Rodebaugh. The freshman was pinch running for Madison Kennedy who led the bottom of the fifth with a walk. Madison Bratek then singled, moving Kennedy to second when Nasco came into run for her.
With one out, right fielder Tatianna Davis then reached on an error advancing Bratek to second and Nasco to third. Rodebaugh filed out to right field scoring Nasco with the only run JU needed.
Harwood, a sophomore from Perth, Western Australia, struck out four in picking up her sixth win of the year.
"Pitching and defense were great today. It allowed us to take advantage of their mistakes and come out on top of a pitcher's duel." said Head Coach Erica Ayers.
