Box Score 2 RICHMOND, KY – Eastern Kentucky erupted for five runs in the seventh inning of game one and continued its scoring in game two beating Jacksonville University in a doubleheader Thursday.
The Dolphins (18-19, 4-7) dropped both contests with scores of 5-4 and 11-6.
Game 1
JU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the fifth inning as Tatianna Davis singled to left field allowing Victoria Rodebaugh to score on a fielding error by left fielder Jeanay Riley. Madison Bratek followed with a double through the left side which advanced Joely Leguizamon and Davis to score. Madison Reynolds singled up the middle sending M. Bratek home. JU couldn't hold the lead and gave up five runs in the seventh as the Colonels clinched the win with game winning sacrifice fly.
Game 2
EKU scored another five runs in the first inning. The Dolphins rebounded with a pair of runs in the second inning. Redshirt Sophomore Allison Carter reached on a hit by pitch. Rodebaugh then reached on a walk and Carter advanced to second. Kailey Harrigan singled to center field and Carter scored. Leguizamon singled down the right field line allowing Rodebaugh to score.
JU added two runs in the fourth and two more in the seventh.
Madison Renolds had a five-hit day for the Dolphins.
