HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dolphins concluded their early-season road trip by traveling north to Charleston, South Carolina. The weather was in the high 80s, and freshman Ines Martin brought the heat in the final third. In the 26th minute, the Dolphins were rewarded with a penalty kick — an opportunity that Martin did not miss, giving the visitors the early lead, which they would carry into the half. Martin, playing in just her fourth game as a Dolphin, later fired a shot that found the bottom left corner in the 86th minute, both times giving JU a one-goal lead.

The start of the second half saw the Buccaneers awarded a penalty just over one minute into the half. However, CSU was unable to capitalize on the opportunity, and the game wore on with JU maintaining a slim one-goal lead. In the 68th minute, Fiamo Hidalgo found the back of the net for Charleston Southern, tying the game momentarily. Following the dramatic finish from Ines Martin in the 86th minute, Madisen Mitchum scored her own equalizer in the 89th minute, forcing a draw between the two sides.Â

We came here telling ourselves we had to pickup some type of result today and that's what we did against a team that had been in fine form. Today was a big step in the right direction for our team."
