JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville and Eastern Kentucky played to a 1-1 tie Thursday (Oct. 17) at home at Southern Oak Stadium. The Dolphins scored a goal to open the second half but conceded a goal with under three minutes to play to yield the final result.
Jacksonville moved to 3-9-3 overall and 2-5-2 in ASUN action following the draw.
How it Happened
Jacksonville grabbed its 1-0 lead when Laura Di Mascio scored her second goal of the season in the 52nd minute. The score stayed put until the the Colonels tied the game on a goal in the 88th minute.Â
Both teams were quiet in the shots department with JU holding a slight 8-5 lead. Di Mascio led both teams with two shots, both of which were on target.Â
In net, Pia Bozic did not record a save after facing just one shot on net.Â
Manuela Restrepo, Logan Gonzales, Samantha Sharrocks, Hannah Bielicke, Mariama Dabo and Andrea Zwinkels all recorded shots in the contest.Â
Game Notes
- Restrepo now has 38 shots on the season, followed by Gonzales with 24 and Di Mascio with 21.
- The Dolphins have scored in four consecutive games.Â

Coach's Comments
"I think we just have to trust the process and trust what we are doing," head coach Ryan Moon said. "We have seen it in our performances. If we take a few more chances when they come up, I think that will help us close out some more games. Ultimately, we played well tonight. Credit to EKU for holding on. We just want to keep performing well. If we keep performing well, results will come and at the right time too."
