Jacksonville Earns Shutout Victory Over Bellarmine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- On Senior Day, the Jacksonville Dolphins got goals from Laura Di Mascio and senior Andrea Zwinkels in a 2-0 shutout win over Bellarmine Sunday (Oct. 20) at home at Southern Oak Stadium.

The win improved Jacksonville's record to 4-9-3 overall and 3-5-2 in ASUN play and gained the team three more points towards postseason seeding.

How it Happened

Jacksonville started the scoring when Di Mascio netted her third goal of the season in the 11th minute off an assist from Logan Gonzales.

The Dolphins increased their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Zwinkels -- her second goal of the season -- in the 61st minute, assisted by Lina Ballmann. Zwinkels was one of six Dolphin seniors who played their final home game in Southern Oak, joining Gonzales, Bayleigh Humbert, Hannah Bielicke, Marissa Etchart and Makala Woodford.

Gonzales had a monster day offensively outside of her assist with a game-high five shots. Di Mascio had a game-high three shots on goal. Madelyn Radtke ripped off two shots, part of a 12-shot effort by the Dolphins.

In net, Pia Bozic gave her squad a clean sheet, her fourth shutout of the year. She made two saves on seven total shots.

Game Notes

  • Etchart logged a season-high in minutes (3).
  • Woodford logged a season-high in minutes (29).
  • Zwinkels scored her first goal since scoring once against South Carolina State.
  • Gonzales logged a season-high five shots.
  • Bielicke played her sixth consecutive game of over 60 minutes on the field.
  • Humbert recorded one shot, her eighth shot in six games.

Coach's Comments
"I am just really happy with the consistency we are bringing every single day," head coach Ryan Moon said. "Every game we come out, whether we win, lose or tie, we have the consistency there with our performance. The collective spirit among the whole team was there tonight. We are really pleased for all these seniors who have put in so much hard work over their time here. It was a really nice send-off for them here at home."
