JACKSONVILLEĀ -- It was a game of firsts for the Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 15. Jacksonville got a pair of goals from Logan Gonzales, her first brace of the season, in a 5-0 shutout victory over South Carolina St. at home at Southern Oak Stadium. It was the team's first shutout of the year while the win markedĀ the first coaching win for head coach Ryan Moon at the helm of the Dolphins.
Jacksonville improved to 1-4-1 overall following the victory.
How it Happened
The Dolphins jumped out to an earlyĀ 1-0 lead when Hannah Bielicke notched her first goal of the season in the second minute, assisted by Lina Ballmann. Manuela Restrepo thenĀ increased theĀ lead to 2-0 withĀ her second goal of the seasonĀ in the 24th minute. It was Restrepo's second goal in as many games.
Jacksonville then made it a 3-0 game on Gonzales' 33rd-minute goal, her third of the season. Bielicke assisted the goal. Gonzales wasn't done yet however, as she netted her second of the day in the 39th-minute to put her squadĀ up 4-0. With three goals, Gonzales leads the team in scoring followed by Restrepo.
Andrea Zwinkels finished things off with herĀ first goal of the season in the 64th minute.Ā
In net, Gretchen Duttenhofer kept things clean for the entire 90 minutes andĀ made one save on the day.
As a team, JU finished with 20 total shots and 15 shots on goal. Gonzales led the team with four shots on net, followed by Caterina Cappielo and Zwinkels.Ā
Coach's Comments
"They deserved today," Moon said. "It was a really good team performance. They did all the things we talked about. It was a different challenge today but they took what was at hand and took care of business as a team. They were very professional and mature in their mindset. We are really happy with the clean sheet and to have gotten some goals."
Game Notes
- Gonzales (11) and Restrepo (10) both have recorded double-digit shots this season, tops on the team.
- Duttenhofer played a season-high 90 minutes in net.
- Inés Martín played a season-high 14 minutes.
- The Dolphins were assessed two yellow cards. Gonzales and Samantha Sharrocks each receivedĀ a booking.Ā

The Dolphins take to the road to open ASUN play, traveling to Stetson on Sept. 19. The team will return home Sept. 22 to face FGCU.
