Dolphins Bounce Back With Sweep Against Columbia

JACKSONVILLE, FL --
The Jacksonville Volleyball team could not overcome a potent Bulldogs offense Friday at home falling to Citadel in straight sets (19-25, 20-25, 20-25).

Bre McDonough finished with 13 kills on the day to lead the Dolphins offense. Emily Hodsdon earned 9 digs to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Dolphins dropped set one 25-19 despite a strong showing on the attacking end. Jacksonville put together 10 kills in the set loss.

SET 2 | A 25-20 second-set loss put Jacksonville behind 2-0 in the match. The Dolphins fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.

SET 3 | Jacksonville could not win the third set and was swept by Citadel. The Dolphins came up short by the score of 25-20. Jacksonville trailed by as many as six points as Citadel grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up nine times before the Bulldogs took over the lead.

Game 2

JACKSONVILLE, FL --The Jacksonville volleyball team secured a three-set win (25-18, 25-14, 25-21) over the Columbia Lions Friday at home at Swisher Gymnasium.

The Dolphins offense was paced by Cami Kelsay, who finished with 14 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .462, and by Bre McDonough, who had 12 while hitting .429. The 'Phins got 6 digs from Sofia Rampazzo to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Dolphins took the first set 25-18 powered by a strong performance on the attacking end. Jacksonville registered a .306 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set victory. The Dolphins ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the set.

SET 2 | Jacksonville built on a set-one win by securing a 25-14 victory in set two. The Dolphins earned the set victory powered by a solid performance on the attacking end. The Dolphins registered 15 kills in the set win. The Jacksonville offense also got a boost from four aces in the set.

SET 3 | Jacksonville finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning set three. The Dolphins took the set 25-21 propelled by a strong performance on the attacking side. Jacksonville put together a .333 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands five times, the Dolphins took control for good at 21-20 and rode that advantage to victory. The Jacksonville offense also got a boost from three aces in the set.
