Jacksonville and Queens Finish in Scoreless Draw

CHARLOTTE -- Jacksonville and Queens finished in a 0-0 tie Thursday (Sept. 26) at the Queens Sports Complex. Despite the rainy conditions, the Dolphins put up 20 shots and eight shots on goal.

The draw moved Jacksonville's record to 2-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in ASUN play.

How it Happened

Jacksonville's 20 shots tied a season-high set against South Carolina State. The team's eight shots were its second most in conference play, just one shy of the nine the team registered against FGCU. Defensively, JU held Queens to only two shots and no shots on goal. Pia Bozic started the entire 90 minutes in net but wasn't forced to make a single save.

On offense, Manuela Restrepo again led the way. Restrepo registered team-highs in shots (4) and shots on goal (3). Her four shots was the third time this season the junior from Columbia has had four or more shots in a contest. She leads the team with 24 shots in total.

Andrea Zwinkels and Bayleigh Humbert each notched a trio of shots. Madelyn Radtke, Logan Gonzales and Georgina Spraggon all had a pair of shots.

Coach's Comments
"We were really pleased with our performance today both on and off the ball," coach Ryan Moon said. "Difficult weather conditions and away from home we defended well and moved the ball well. A little disappointed that we didn't convert some of our chances but we'll take a clean sheet and a point and move on to the next one."

Game Notes

  • Jacksonville received one yellow card to Laura Di Mascio.
  • Jacksonville put eight shots on goal giving the team 23 shots in ASUN play.
  • Queens not registering a single shot on goal was the first time JU faced zero shots on target in a contest this season.
