Career-High Nights Had in Lopsided Win Over Trinity College of Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In the final non-conference home game of the year for the Jacksonville Dolphins, JU routed Trinity College of Jacksonville, 122-49.

The win marked the second 100-point home of the non-conference slate for JU and the program's second largest margin of victory all-time (73).

Jacksonville moved to 5-5 overall, and 3-0 at home, with three more non-conference games on the schedule before ASUN season opens on Jan. 1 at Lipscomb. Before Jacksonville travels to Texas A&M on Sunday, Dec. 14, the 'Phins will be riding high from a record book resetting night in Swisher Gymnasium.

Freshman Hayden Wood led the game in scoring with a career-high 21 points. Wood went 4-6 from deep, part of a night that saw JU make 14 from range. He also added three rebounds.

Down low, big man Charles Caporaso set a new career high in scoring with 18 points. The seven-footer snagged a game-high nine rebounds, tying his career best mark. He led the team in makes from the field with a 7-10 showing from the floor.

Chris Arias added 13 points, Jason Thirdkill Jr. notched 12, Chris Lockett Jr. scored 11 and Jaylen Jones scored 10. It was the second time this season, and second time at home, JU had five or more players score in double figures.

In terms of new career-best marks, Jones set his career high with nine assists. Lockett Jr. dished out five balls, a career-high. Freshman guard Roman Loux set a career-high in scoring with four points, playing four minutes and finishing 2-2 from the field.

Freshman guard Evan Sterck dished out 10 total assists, good for not only a career high but made him the first guard since J.D. Notae in 2019 to tally 10 or more assists in a game.

The team's 30 total assists tied the fifth best mark all-time for single game assists. The team's 14 made 3-pointers tied for the sixth best mark in school history.

As a squad, JU went 44-69 from the field, good for a 63.8% shooting number. That percentage landed the 2025-26 squad in ninth place for best single-game shooting performance in school history.

Donovan Rivers tied his career high in rebounds with 11, finishing just shy of a double-double by scoring eight points. Rivers led the game in rebounding, helping lead a 55-rebound night from the Dolphins.

Jacksonville's rebounding number, shooting percentage, 3-point percentage and assists were all season-highs for the 'Phins.

Defensively, Jacksonville limited Trinity to just two makes from deep, three assists and 15 turnovers. Jacksonville turned the ball over just nine times, the best mark again since the FAMU victory on Dec. 2.

The flying 'Phins take their show back on the road, this time to College Station, Texas for a matchup with Texas A&M. The Dolphins and the Aggies square off on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. EST on SEC Network.

JU returns home Thursday, Jan. 8 for a conference tilt with Queens at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN+.
