JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Dolphins dropped its pair of games to end its JU Classic run Saturday.

The Dolphins opened the day with a loss to Mount St. Mary's (MD) 6-4 and later fell to DePaul 7-2.

Jacksonville now owns a record of 11-7. The squad split its four tournament games 2-2.

Against the Mountaineers, JU found itself in a 2-0 hole after the top of the first. Averi Harcus responded immediately at the plate however with an RBI single to score Madison Bratek.

Down 3-1, Alayna Gaddy cranked a home run off the hill in left field to score a pair. Gaddy's homer was her first of the season.

Alison Carter followed with a sac-fly to give Jacksonville a 4-3 lead, but a run in the fourth and fifth by Mount St. Mary's sealed the game.

Harcus had a monster day at the plate in the day's opener, going 3-4 with an RBI. In the first three games of the JU Classic, Harcus tallied seven hits. She added one against DePaul.

Ashlee Harwood got the start in the circle and went 1 2/3 innings. Karson Johnson (1-2) and Jacy Harrelson come on in relief with Harrelson fanning a pair.

In the team's final game of the day, Haley Fox led the clubhouse with a 2-4 showing at the plate. Kiersten Stevens hit in the team's lone RBI of the game with an RBI single in the fourth.

Carter hit a sac-fly to score a runner which pushed the score to 4-2.

In the bottom of the seventh, looking to make a late comeback down 7-2, Gaddy started the inning off with a single.

Tatum McCool then hit a single herself to put two runners on with no outs on the board, but Jacksonville could not get the runners home.
The pair of losses snapped a four-game win streak.

The Dolphins had seven hits in both games on Saturday. The unit now has 12 games this season with seven or more hits including four straight.

JU doesn't get much rest as the 'Phins are slated to square off against #8 FSU at UNF on Wednesday before the Jacksonville Spring Break Challenge begins on Thursday.
