Jacksonville Earns Dominant Victory Over Bellarmine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville University men's lacrosse team defeated Bellarmine 18-5 on Saturday (April 19).

How It Happened
The Dolphins opened up scoring quickly and began to roll from start to finish, scoring six straight goals. The 6-0 run to begin the game was capped off by three straight Jack Taylor goals in the first quarter.

Bellarmine's offense came alive late in the first and early in the second, but another 5-0 run added onto the lead as Jackson Intrieri continued to rack up assists giving Jacksonville a 12-4 lead at the halftime break.

The offensive production of the first half was countered by JU's defensive effort in the second half, allowing just one more Bellarmine goal for the remainder of the game.

JU finished with their final run of the game, scoring five straight goals for the third time on the day to take the 18-5 victory.

The Numbers Head Coach John Galloway

"I'm really happy with the response of our group after a disappointing performance last weekend. I felt it was going to be critical for us to win the 50/50 battle off the ground and we answered that challenge. Jackson Intrieri had a special performance individually, and he practiced that way all week. I thought our defense led by Michael Meredith and Ryan Della Rocco limited a scary Bellarmine attack.

We will lick our wounds and shift our focus to a hungry Mercer team to wrap up the regular season."

Next Up
It will be Senior Day on Saturday (April 26) when the Dolphins host Mercer at 2:00pm for the regular season finale.
