JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville University men's lacrosse team defeated Mercer 16-12 on Senior Day.
How It Happened
The Dolphins were sparked in the second quarter, scoring seven goals to earn an 11-6 advantage at halftime. It was a back and forth battle for much of the first before Jacksonville's offensive fireworks in the second quarter.

In the second half, JU scored three of the first four goals to punch up the lead to 14-7. Mercer scored next but
Drew Rippeon fed
Jack Taylor to make it 15-8 before
William Krupsky made it 16-8 at the 7:23 mark off an assist from

Head Coach John Galloway
"While I am happy, we found a way to win the game. I am obviously disappointed on how we finished. I believe that this group has high expectations for themselves and we didn't play to the caliber of which we are capable of. The good news is we are fortunate enough to have new life as we begin postseason play.
I am excited to be able to have the championship tournament here in Jacksonville for the first time and program history. We take great pride and being able to host three other great teams as we will all come together to compete for a championship next weekend. This group continues to be very humble and grateful in their approach and that will remain the same as we start our work this evening."
Next Up
Jacksonville moves on to postseason play, hosting the ASUN Championship in Jacksonville on Friday (May 2) and Sunday (May 4). JU earns the two-seed in the conference tournament after earning a share of the ASUN Regular Season title.
