Dolphins Collect 13 ASUN Postseason Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Atlantic Sun Conference released its postseason awards slate for women's lacrosse Tuesday. The Jacksonville Dolphins collected 13 honors, including Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Goalie of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

Senior defender Kaila Stasulli won ASUN Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. She led the Dolphins' defense that allowed the fewest goals in the ASUN, while collecting 15 ground balls, forcing 14 turnovers and corralling 52 draw controls herself.

Junior goalie Brookelynn Hodgin, in her first season as the Dolphins' starter, won Goalie of the Year. She's the first winner of the award in ASUN history, and the second Jacksonville goalie to win a postseason ASUN award.

She started all 15 games for JU, allowing a league-best 10.48 Goals Against Average and saving 45.1% of shots faced.

Freshman attacker Shae Hagans earned the league's Freshman of the Year award by a unanimous vote. She scored a team-high 33 goals, leading all freshmen in the conference.

Jacksonville head coach Tara Singleton was named the ASUN Coach of the Year, also a unanimous vote. This is Singleton's second Coach of the Year award since arriving in Jacksonville in 2023.

Stasulli and Hodgin were also named to the All-ASUN First Team. They were joined by defender Maggie Cuddy, midfielders Abby Moran and Allyx Berry and attacker Ainsley Scruggs.

Cuddy joined Stasulli in the Dolphins' formidable defensive nucleus. The Canadian international stuffed the stat sheet, wracking up 42 ground balls, 26 caused turnovers and 31 draw controls. Moran made JU history, setting a new single-season record for draw controls with 157.

Berry broke through in her second college season. She scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists, while also collecting nine ground balls and four caused turnovers. Scruggs led the Jacksonville offense with a team-high 51 points.

Hagans and sophomore attacker Maeve Brennan were named to the All-ASUN Second Team. Brennan had a career year as well, finishing with 20 goals and 20 assists. Hagans was also named to the All-Freshman team.

The Dolphins will look to secure their 10th ASUN Title this weekend as they travel to Liberty for the ASUN Conference Tournament. JU will face Coastal Carolina in the first semifinal match-up Thursday at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
