Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Jacksonville Downs Queens in Defensive Clinic

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Jacksonville University men's lacrosse team defeated Queens 11-6 to move to 2-0 in ASUN Conference play.

How It Happened
It was the second straight game the Dolphins started with a 3-0 run. William Krupsky scored his first of the season to open up the scoring followed by a pair of regulars on the offensive side in Nicky Brown and Jackson Intrieri.

Brown got another one and Michael Clark made his way into the scoring column as the JU defense continued to suffocate the Queens attack in the first and second quarters.

The Royals found their way into the scoring column at the 11:00 mark of the 2nd quarter, but JU rolled into the halftime break with a 6-1 lead.

In the second half, Jacksonville extended the lead to 9-1 with Daylin John-Hill, Intrieri and Ethan LaMond each scoring.

Queens fought back at the end of the third and the entirety of the fourth, closing the gap but the JU lead was too large as the Dolphins held on with an 11-6 victory.

The Numbers
Head Coach John Galloway
"Our defense was fantastic for nearly 60 minutes of lacrosse today. We rotated in multiple defensemen and SSDM, and were able to make life really difficult for their offense. On the other side, we just have to take a deep breath and continue to attack on the same page. I know our guys will be motivated by this result to get back to work as we head into week three of conference play."

Next Up
Jacksonville heads to Salt Lake City to face Utah in a rematch of last year's ASUN Championship game on Saturday (April 12) at 1:00pm EST.
